MEET LEONARD

Leonard Moty was born and raised in Shasta County and has lived in District 2 for twenty-nine years.  He is married to his wife of 35 years, Tracy, also a Shasta County native. They have two adult children, Alex and Kelsey.

PRIOR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Served as the Chief of Police for Redding for six years

• 31 years with the Redding Police Department, 15 years of command level experience

• Managed an operating budget exceeding $26 million and oversaw 190 employees

• Served as the Assistant City Manager for Redding

 

As the current Supervisor of District 2, Leonard has taken a very strong stand for public safety, while also focusing on providing services to our veterans and citizens with mental health issues.  Most importantly, he is fighting to protect our water rights and pursuing avenues to hold PG&E accountable for providing reliable power to our rural communities.
